Manny Pacquiao Toyed His 5"11 Sparing Mate

Manny Pacquiao sent to school a supposed to be challenging sparring mate who also won the National Golden Gloves light-welterweight award in 2009.

Jose Benavidez, a 17 year old, 5”11 American fighter is one of the Pacquiao’s sparring mate at the Wild Card Gym in preparation for his defense of his welterweight title fight against Joshua Clottey.

Despite having an impeccable record as an amateur of 120-5 and a knock out win during his pro debut on the first round, Benavidez was just toyed by the pound-for-pound king. So far Manny Pacquiao has already logged 16 rounds of sparring in just three days and is on his second week of training. Despite of this, his trainers are already getting awed at the shape and conditioning of the Pacman.

Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight On March 13

The Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight is now shaping up as Bob Arum, Top Rank CEO has already confirmed a draft of a contract for Manny Pacaquiao and Floyd Mayweather to clash on a classic and most anticipated boxing fight of the century; that will also cement of who really is the greatest pound-for-pound king.Arum is set to arrive in the Philippines to hand over to Pacquiao and see for himself the draft of the fight contract that is sure to set a box-office hit in sports history.

Tentatively, the mega-bout between Pacquiao and Mayweather is scheduled on March 13, but Manny’s quest for a political post on the May 2010 elections is surely to affect the schedule of fight.

But since this bout was botched, Pacquiao-Clottey Fight was instead put in place.

Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight Venue in MGM Grand

The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight seems to be really taking more seriously as talks are now ripe as to a venue that is most probably to host the big boxing fight of the century.

Previously, three venues are the choices for the Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather blockbuster fight: Las Vegas, Dallas and Louisiana.


But reports indicate that the promoter of the fight between these two great fighters has cancelled their trips to Dallas indicating that the venue is most probably be at the famed MGM Grand of Las Vegas.

The fight is scheduled on March 13, 2010 with the winner sealing his mark in history as the real pound-for-pound king.

Will it be Mayweather of Pacquiao? That is something to look forward to.

Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight Taking Shape

The Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Fight is taking shape now after Manny Pacquiao superbly displayed his boxing power and style after beating Miguel Cotto.

Though the negations for the greatest boxing the world will ever has not yet really formally started, bets on online betting stations are already rising up with Manny Pacquiao having the 8-5 advantage over Floyd Mayweather Jr. due to his superb performance against Cotto. But the past days has changed the odds at 7-5 still favoring Pacquiao with some Mayweather followers pouring in their bets for their man.


One of the biggest obstacle though for the highly-anticipated Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown is who is between the two prized fighter is going to get the lions’ share of the income not only from pay-per-views but also on the guaranteed purse.

The Mayweather camp is asking for 65-35 split in favor of Floyd while Team Pacquiao easily brushed such demands as stupid and without basis that won’t certainly give them the fight they want with Pacman.

For now, everyone is just awaiting for the biggest showdown in boxing history to take shape: Pacquiao-Mayweather bout.

And it will seal the question of who really is the greatest boxer.
