Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants made history tonight as they sweep the KFC PBA Philippine Cup championship series against top-seeded Alaska Aces 4-0 in front of more than 16,000 screaming fans.
The impenetrable defense of Purefoods proved futile for the Aces to make a comeback from the series deficit and the pressure took its toll on them as they squabbled to find their offense, missing lots of free throws and committing so many turnovers.
Purefoods won 86-76 Game Four of the best-of-seven series becoming the only third team in PBA history to sweep the finals series.
James Yap was declared the Best Player of the Conference, and showed his sharp shooting and savvy moves towards the hoops while almost everyone on their team contributed to the rally of the Giants.
The next PBA conference is set to start on the fourth week of March and expect imports to join in the games.
